This initiative takes the protection of personal data very serious. We want you to know which data is stored and how it will be processed. As a ‘gemeinnütziger Verein’ (non-profit association), we are governed by the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz) (BDSG) and the Teleservices Data Protection Act (Teledienstedatenschutzgesetz) (TDDSG).
Personal Data
Data is personal if it may be associated with your person and provides information about your behavior or traits. This includes your name, address, postal address and telephone number, but also information on your potential interests or behavior in respect of donations or surfing the internet, insofar as this information may be directly or indirectly attributable to you.
Data Security and Data Management
Such personal data of contributors and donors is collected by the initiative as is required for the purpose of obtaining and managing donations as well as preparing and carrying out placement work. For example, we process your e-mail-address with regard to the subscription of the newsletter of cases.
Your address is also needed to submit a confirmation of annual donations. Your address data and, with your consent, also your telephone number and e-mail-address will be used for the international network of the Lawyers for Environmental Protection in order to inform you of current projects and developments, proposed activities and services. Insofar it appears in respect of the data collection that some data are not mandatory, such as an address for delivery of information material requested, and consequently not identified as required fields the entry of such data shall be optional.
We ensure not to sell or lease your data to other companies or organizations. You have the right to terminate receipt of information at any time and to object to the use of your contact details for this purpose. In this case, please send an e-mail to datenschutz(at)jufum.org .
In order to fulfill our tasks we have to cooperate with service providers who may receive personal data in this respect. These service providers will be bound by contract vis-à-vis the Lawyers for Environmental Protection and may use any personal data they receive only in the scope of the authorized purpose.
Online Services
If you register for any of our personalized online services, such as the subscription of an online newsletter or making a donation online, we will ask for your name and other personal data required in this respect. We will not use your e-mail address for other purposes without your consent. Generally, your data will be submitted encrypted in order to prevent any unauthorized use by third parties. Your data will be saved on specifically protected servers. Access will be available only to a limited number of authorized persons who are aware of the relevant provisions in respect of data protection.
IP address
In order to access this initiative’s website a registration of the IP number is required. The IP address is the globally valid, unique identification of a computer and contains four numerical sequences separated by dots. As a private user you usually do not use a constant IP address which is only temporarily assigned by your service provider. However, a clear allocation of user data may be possible in case of static IP addresses. Principally, we do not use these data in relation to an individual but we analyze them only on an anonymized basis in order to determine which sites are favored, the daily number of access or otherwise.
Use of Cookies and Similar Tools
We use cookies, small text files containing access information, which may temporary be stored on your hard disk. They support determination of the frequency of use and the number of users of our website. The applied cookies will only be used for this purpose and in anonymized form. In no case, they will be used to investigate your pattern of use or to influence your choice of content provided.
Use of our offer is possible without cookies. The settings of most browsers accept cookies automatically. You may however deactivate the storage of cookies or change the settings of your browser in order to be informed if cookies are sent which allows you to decline the storage of these cookies.
We attach great importance to use active components such as Javascript, Java, etc. as rarely as possible. Independency of platforms is a matter of course.
